picture of Caitlan TafoyaWhat was your most memorable experience as a student at Del Norte High School?

My most memorable experience at Del Norte was my sophomore year playing JV girls basketball. During that season, we worked hard from the get go and our coach, Coach Carr, had the faith and confidence that we were winners. We ended the season with a winning record of 13-7 and 7-1 in district season. We were district champions and made it to the silver bracket in the APS tournament. We all were so excited and eager. We WON that tournament 1st place. I was and always will remember the feeling of succeeding because of hard work.

What do you intend to study at your college or university, and what do you want to do after you graduate from college?

I plan to pursue a degree in Pediatric Nursing at the University of New Mexico. I would love to get started in my career of aiding adolescents, toddlers, and babies to health. I plan to pursue my education further and attend Graduate School and get into a program to get the highest education I can to be the very best Pediatric Nurse or Pediatrician I can be.

As a new “AlumKnight,” what advice would you give you to students and staff at DNHS?

As an AlumKnight I would say to the students to never lose sight of that diploma. There are distractions throughout high school but if you keep out of trouble and GET INVOLVED, senior year will come quick and you will have gained so many memories and friends. Play as many sports and represent De Norte proudly. To the staff, continue being a motivation to DN students and continue supporting everything. You’ve made me comfortable and that’s what makes Del Norte so great! GO KNIGHTS!
