DNHS Band Needs Your Support on Oct 11th

The DNHS Marching Band needs a few more volunteers to fulfill their obligation to the NM Pageant of Bands competition taking place Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Wilson Stadium. In addition, the band is the first to perform at 8:00 am and needs an audience!

The NM Pageant of Bands is an annual state-wide marching band competition produced by volunteers from high schools in Albuquerque. In return, member bands receive a portion of the proceeds based on volunteer participation. Last year the apportionment was $400 thanks to the support of the AlumKnights. DNHS still needs a few volunteers for the Pageant on Saturday, October 11 at Wilson Stadium (near Manzano HS). In particular they need at least 1 more for the 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm shift. The other shift they can assign is the 2:15 pm to 5:00 pm shift. If you can help, please contact Dan Jones – abqdanj@gmail.com.

In a random draw, DNHS got a less than ideal performance order. They are the first band to compete at 8:00 am. That means they will be performing to pretty-much empty stands which is quite disheartening to the students that have worked so hard on their program. Your attendance and cheering would be greatly appreciated. The event starts with the Star Spangled Banner at 7:45 am with Del Norte’s performance following. Tickets at the gate are $10, or $8 for students/seniors.
