2026 Del Norte High School Selfless Senior
Del Norte High School Senior Antwashia Yatsattie has been honored as a 2026 Selfless Senior by the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation. The foundation’s Selfless Seniors program shines a spotlight on students who have worked to make the community a better place.
Meet Antwashia Yatsattie, the 2026 Del Norte High School Selfless Senior:
“Hi, my name is Antwashia Yatsattie. I am from Del Norte High School. I think that it is my responsibility to give back to the community because the community is what makes us stronger. I have gotten to know a lot of people and some of them became close friends. I know that I can rely on them if I need help with anything. Being open and helping the community is also something that makes me really happy. Knowing that I have helped people in many ways makes me smile. I love my community and hope to help even more then I did this year.”
Yatsattie recently became the first female student from Del Norte to enlist in the New Mexico Air National Guard while also planning to attend college full-time, where she hopes to pursue a career in nursing or medicine. Inspired by her instructor, Colonel Michael Lamb, and motivated by a desire to help people during difficult moments, she has set ambitious goals for herself while already opening doors for future generations in her family and school community.
