A handful of students at Del Norte High School are getting an exclusive Broadway experience this holiday season. Broadway for Teens, an outreach program started by Popejoy, showcases musicals straight from Broadway and brings them to New Mexico’s youth.

This year, the student’s get to check out “MJ: The Musical,” a stage show about Michael Jackson.
Every year, students can submit an application to the program, and two theater students jumped at the opportunity to get their school in the drawing.

“I’m a theater kid, most of my time’s in here or in choir, so that was really exciting,” said Del Norte High School Student Vianne Enriquez. “And it was like, ‘Who wants to write a lette? Who’s a good writer?’… So we jumped on the opportunity.”

The students will get a free lunch before the show.
