2023 DNHS Selfless Senior

Del Norte High School Senior Ezekiel Romero has been honored as a 2023 Selfless Senior by the Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation. The foundation’s Selfless Seniors program shines a spotlight on students who have worked to make the community a better place.
“I always wanted to follow in the footsteps of my idols, people like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Fred Hampton, Rosa Luxemburg amongst others. My name is Ezekiel Romero and I attend Del Norte High School. I remember watching and reading the community support and outreach they created, seeing them as people who cared for the people, so to me I wish not to lead communities but create environments which people will lead themselves, in turn creating communities which will revolutionize the future not by hanging on the harsh truths, but by planting gentle lessons.”
